“Protecting the outward appearance of a product is like taking out car insurance: it costs a little bit of money but if something does go wrong, the insurance is a godsend. It means that you have something you can use to take action via the judicial system to prevent the improper use of your design.”
Here you will find information about the registration of designs. The menu on the left contains links to the various subjects. The links have been divided into two blocks: the block at the top offers the links to actions and the lower block offers the links to information about the various aspects of designs and their protection.
For example, if you want to register a design straight away, or if you want to apply for a modification, just click on the relevant action in the top block. If you would first like to know more, then click on an information link.
The Benelux Office for Intellectual Property is the official office for the registration of trademarks, designs and drawings in the Benelux countries. The BOIP register currently contains nearly one million trademarks and over 16,000 drawings and designs.
