The Trademark Package
The Trademark Package marks a new step forward in the harmonisation of trademark law across Europe. As part of the reform, a new Regulation on the European Union trademark (2017/1001) and a new Directive to approximate the laws of the Member States relating to trademarks (2015/2436) have been adopted.
The changes are largely aimed at modernising and simplifying procedures. They also bolster trademark holders' rights in several respects, whilst expanding limitations and possible means of defence at the same time.
Seminar
We are looking forward to briefing you on the new subject matter, and on how it will be implemented in the Benelux in practice, at the seminar on 13 December 2018. Following the plenary session, there will be time to discuss matters further with colleagues over appetizers and drinks.
